Halloween takes place on October 31st every year. However, the celebrations of Halloween in 2020 were restricted due to the coronavirus pandemic. Is it safe to go trick-or-treating as more people in BC are vaccinated?
The following gives you some tips to keep Halloween entertaining enduring the pandemic.
Trick-or Treating
BC’s slogan for the upcoming Halloween is to "celebrate less socially and trick-or-treat locally this Halloween.”
Doctors suggest having an outdoor trick-or-treat to limit the spread of the virus. A good solution is to organize treats in the yard as a scavenger hunt. It is also important to sanitize the candies’ packages as children will be touching them. It is safer to go trick-or-treating near the neighbourhood rather than malls, since there may not be enough space to distance.
Halloween Movies Suggestions
The Ring (Japanese Version)
The Ring is a classic horror movie adapted from a Japanese novel. The movie discusses the story of a reporter and her ex-husband investigating a cursed video tape that is rumored to kill the viewer seven days after watching it. It combines supernatural elements with anxieties about modern technology.
Scream (1996)
Scream is a horror movie directed by Wes Craven. It combines black comedy with a mystery of violence. A year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a new killer, who targets the girl and her friends by using horror films as part of a deadly game.
Orphan
Orphan is a horror film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. The film describes the mysterious deaths after a couple adopted a nine-year-old girl. The plot of Orphan is tense, whereas it is not as scary as The Ring and Scream.
